MISSION STATEMENT

The Civil Service Bureau (CSB) is an agency of the Bahrain Government and has the following mission according to Amiri Decree No. 6 1975.
‘The Civil Service Bureau’s mission is focussed on the supervision of personnel affairs and making suggestions regarding Civil Service affairs, laws and rules’.
‘CSB is also expected to provide opinions on civil affairs and laws prior to their approval, and supervises the implementation of all laws, rules, and decisions on Government personnel affairs. The issuance of the necessary instructions to implement laws and rules is also within the responsibilities and guidelines of the CSB’.
‘The Civil Service Bureau’s mission is also concerned with proposing policies concerning salaries, increments, compensation and gratuities’.
‘CSB conducts research on the position classification system and utilises the findings to develop and supervise the position duties, qualifications, and responsibilities’.
‘In addition, CSB establishes training regulations and supervises their implementation; promotes and increases civil service performance standards and productivity; achieves equality in employee treatment and develops management. Moreover, CSB will follow up and research any recent developments in Civil Service Legislation’.

In addition to this the Management Information Systems Directorate has a prime mission:

“To provide a ‘state of the art’ information technology system in order to achieve the main goals for the Civil Service Bureau by providing the highest quality of service and continuously improving the technical support both for the directorate in the Civil Service Bureau and for the user communities of the other ministries who will have access to the CSB system”.
