Resolution No. (6) for 1979
Regarding
Policy for Car Allowances for Employees of the Government of Bahrain
Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs,
In accordance with the Prime Minister’ s Resolution No. 6 for 1978 regarding the assignment to Civil Service Bureau of central management and control of all personnel working in the Civil Service,and on Resolution No. (8) for 1975 which delegated some jurisdictions of the Prime Minister to the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, and with the approval of the Council of Ministers; it is hereby ordained:
Article (1)
Effective 1st July, 1979 the following policy will be applied for the granting and administration of sick leave for all employee of the government of the State of Bahrain.
Employees in the following categories are excepted from the provisions of this policy;
- Consultant and contract hire on a daily (per diem) basis;
- Temporary employees appointed for less than 90 days;
- Part time employees
Article (2)
All employees of the government of the state of Bahrain who are covered by the rules of this resolution will earn sick leave at the rate of 2 work days for each full month of duty for a total of 24 work days each year and with accumulation ceiling of 288 working days.
Article (3)
The Civi1 Service Bureau is responsible for the authorization and administration of the sick leave provision and will issue procedures for implementation of this resolution.
Article (4)
The medical Commission appointed by the Minister of Health is responsible for determining the fitness of the employee to perform the duties of his position , the validity of medical certification and the periods of incapacitation due to illness.
Article (5)
Sick Leave may be authorized when it is established that employee incapacitation for the performance of duty because of illness or for medical or dental or optical examination as detailed in Article (3 & 4) of this resolution.
Article (6)
The employee may, upon the advice of the Medical Commission be advanced leave for up to 60 work days to over extended periods of incapacitation to illness when all of the employee’s sick leave and annual leave credit been used.
Article (7)
Any other provision of the resolution or procedure that contradicts the procedure of this resolution is hereby rescinded.
Article (8)
This resolution comes into effect date it is issued and will be published in the official gazette.
