Resolution No. (3) for 1981
Regarding
Occupational Safety
Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs,
In accordance with the Prime Minister’s Resolution No. (6) for 19 regarding the assignment to the Civil Service Bureau of the Central management and control of all personnel providing services to t Government of Bahrain.
And with Resolution No. (8) for 1975 which delegated some jurisdictions of the Prime Minister to the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs.
And with the approval of the Council of Ministers.
It is hereby ordained.
Article (1)
It is policy that all government functions, projects, or other activities will be accomplished under conditions that provide protection frog hazards to health and safety.
Article (2)
Standards of safety and environmental conditions will be established which will support the elimination or control of risk in the performance of work assignments.
Article (3)
Training will be provided in respect of occupational Health and safety.
Article (4)
Inspection of work sites will be conducted to promote the identification of hazards to occupational health and safety. Measures appropriate to the risk content of such hazards will be taken to secure their elimination or control.
Article (5)
A system for the recording of accidents within the public sector will be established such record will be used to evaluate and determine unsafe practices and conditions.
Article (6)
Ministries will be responsible within their sphere of activities for the development, operation and maintenance of conditions that provide protection from hazards to health and safety. This will specifically include the provision of employee training in occupational health and safety.
Article (7)
The Civil Service Bureau with be responsible for issuing Regulations implementing the provisions of this Resolution and will provide appropriate advice and assistance to Ministries in respect of matters relating to occupational health and safety.
Article (8)
This Resolution comes into effect the date it is issued and will be published in the Official Gazette.
