CIVIL SERVICE REGULATION
SUPPLEMENTS TO CIVIL SERVICE REGULATTON

This regulation explains the purpose of supplements to Civil service Regulations and tells how they are used.
  1. POLICY:

Each Ministry and Independent Office will be given written instructions to assist then in implementing Civil Service Regulations. These instructions are issued in the form of Supplements to the Civil Service Regulations and have mandatory application.

  2. DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLEMENTS:

The Civil Service Publications to implement this policy are referred to as Supplements to Civil Service Regulations. One or more of those supplements are issued on a specific subject matter and are assigned a number to correspond with the Civil Service Regulation it supplements.

This numbering system is used for reference and filing purposes.

  3. NUMBERING SYSTEM:

Civil Service Regulation 121 describes the numbering system for Civil Service Regulations. This system also is used in numbering supplements. In addition to the Regulation Number, each supplement is assigned a number in the order in which it is issued to explain the basic Regulation. For example, Supplement Number 1 to Civil Service Regulation 411 would be the first supplement issued to explain CSR 411 on Trial Periods.

  4. LOCATING AND REFERING SUPPLEMENTS:

CSR 121 explains the method used to file and maintain Civil Service Regulations. Each supplement is interfiled with the Regulations and is filed immediately following the Regulation it supplements. These supplements are referred to as Supplement Number __ to Civil Service Regulation as shown in the example stated in paragraph 3, and will be listed on the Index contained in CSR 001 as they are issued.

  5. TRANSMITAL SHEETS:

Supplements are issued by the same transmittal sheet used to distribute Regulations as described in CSR 121.

  6. DISTRIBUITION OF SUPPLEMENTS:

Supplements are distributed to all using Agencies under the procedures outlined in CSR 120.
